SUMMARY:MosCo After School Art Program (ASAP)
DESCRIPTION:Moscow Contemporary’s After School Art Program consists of art and movement classes for ages 2-11 year olds.\n\nOur art classes are offered on Tuesday (Ages 5-7) and Thursdays (Ages 8-11) from 3:45-5:00pm. These classes are taught by Education Director Megan Mack and explore diverse materials\, mediums\, and art forms while using inspiration from contemporary artists and beyond. Classes encourage play\, as well as technique and art history.\n\nOur after school movement class: Animal Dances is led and created by local artist\, dancer\, and choreographer Corrie Befort. Classes are held on Monday (ages 6-11yrs) from 4:15-5:30pm and on Friday (ages 2-4yrs) from 10:00-10:45am. This class brings physical education\, creativity\, technical skills\, and imagination together to create a unique class for students who love to MOVE!\n\nLearn more and register: https://www.moscowcontemporary.org/asap2\n\nSpace is limited to 12 students per class. DESCRIPTION:ASAP Animal Dances\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nis led and created by local artist\, dancer\, and choreographer Corrie Befort. \nClasses are held on Monday (6-11yr) 4:15-5:30 pm and Friday (2-4yr) 10:00-10:45 am. These classes bring physical education\, imagination and technical skill together in a class designed for kids who love to MOVE. Wild\, strong\, beautiful\, ferocious\, delicate\, swift\, they move as noisy packs\, solitary creatures and dynamic murmurations. They look to animals’ bodies to understand how our own muscles and bones work\, and use sound and color toward movement invention. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nASAP on Tuesday or Thursday \nis from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm during the school year. Tuesday and Thursday classes are divided by age this semester so please only register your student on the days that correlate with their age. The After School Art Program (ASAP) was developed for children ages 5-11 in response to community need for youth arts services. ASAP explores a deeper connection to exhibits held at Moscow Contemporary while providing education through hands-on engagement with the arts and humanities. ASAP runs in twelve week sessions two-three times throughout the school year. \nThese classes explore diverse materials\, mediums\, and art forms while using inspiration from Cave Paintings\, the Greeks\, the Renaissance\, Impressionism\, Cubism\, Pop art\, Modernism\, and Contemporary artists.

DESCRIPTION:Nov. 22nd\, 29th\, Dec. 6th\, 20th \nSaturday’s\, 1:00 – 4:00 pm \nThis will be a four week course to learn the basics of landscape painting.  Students will work on individual projects with input from me and each other. We will start with how to identify your subject and break up a picture to transfer to your canvas. We will also discuss how to use these skills in an outdoor setting\, but due to the time of year\, we will be working from a photograph. I will cover setting up your canvas including ideas on color\, and how to use paint and texture to create depth.
