Festival Dance – Bringing the Arts to Life Across the Region!
Festival Dance is always in motion—igniting creativity, inspiring connection, and enriching lives through the transformative power of the arts. For over 40 years, this dynamic nonprofit has proudly served our region, reaching over 15,000 people annually, including 5,000 youth, with vibrant performances and educational programs that span every month of the year.
With a mission to bring the arts to the people and the people to the arts, Festival Dance delivers world-class experiences through its Great Performances Series, which has featured more than 80 touring dance companies, musical theatre productions, and global music and dance acts. Their reach extends across 15 communities in five counties in Idaho and Washington, bringing high-quality arts access to both rural and urban areas.
At the Festival Dance Academy on the University of Idaho campus—and through outreach programs in Lapwai, Troy, and Genesee—students of all ages explore a wide range of dance styles. Programs like Discover Dance and Festival Youthreach provide free in-school classes and unforgettable performances by touring artists, ensuring that every child has access to the arts regardless of location or background.
Festival Dance also presents beloved community traditions like the Missoula Children’s Theatre residency, as well as summer workshops in dance and musical theatre. These joyful, enriching experiences are made possible through the incredible support of generous patrons and local businesses.
